End the Tuition Crisis at NMSU
To learn more about how NMSU can afford to cover graduate employee tuition this year check out our report: https://nmsugrads.ueunion.org/research-report/

We, the graduate workers union at NMSU, are concerned that forcing graduate workers to pay tuition in order to work is deeply burdensome and is forcing many of our colleagues to consider leaving New Mexico State University.

•80% of our peer institutions provide tuition coverage to graduate employees.

•International students who are barred from working off campus are going into debt to afford basic necessities.

•After paying tuition — a condition of employment — the average graduate employee earns just $12,123 annually.

•The Federal Poverty Line for a single adult with no children is currently $13,590.

•The 2022 base living annual wage for a single adult with no children in Las Cruces is $32,307.

NMSU must negotiate immediately to address the crisis of tuition and commit to real tuition relief for Fall 2022. Sign below and add your voice to the demand.
