Dear Parents and Guardians,

Your child has expressed an interest in participating in this year's OBOB (Battle of the Books) trivia competition. The Battle of the Books is a voluntary activity for students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Since participation involves extensive reading and can occur outside of school hours, parents are asked to complete this permission form.

To participate in the competition, teams of four to five students assemble to study a set of sixteen books selected by the statewide OBOB committee. At this time, all OBOB activities will take place virtually. Parents are encouraged to be involved in their student's book selection by familiarizing themselves with each book and determining if the content is appropriate for their child. If you are interested in serving as a parent coach for your child's team, please indicate this in the boxes below.
