Wai Huihia Kumu Network April Gathering RSVP
Please join us for our final Wai Huihiha Kumu Network gathering for the 2023 school year; as we take "Action for ʻĀina, Make a Pledge for ʻĀina-Based Education!" on Tuesday, May 9, from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM in person at Mālama Learning Center's Pālehua nursery. At this gathering, you will have a chance to take a tour of our beautiful mauka nursery, see some epic views, spend some time loving and learning about native plants, and have a chance to win some fabulous prize giveaways such as educational books, soil kits, a "see-through compost" kit, and more! Light refreshments will also be available. We welcome you to join us as we spend a relaxing afternoon together up mauka! This gathering is free to attend. 

Tentative agenda:
3:30 PM Check-In/Welcome/Light Refreshments 
3:40 PM Welcome to MLC's Pālehua Nursery- a tour of the nursery and new site, "Awanui" 
4:00 PM Native Plant Teach and Share 
4:20 PM Get your hands in the soil- some light hana in the nursery 
4:50 PM Prize Giveaways- including the "Beat the Heat" Game! and Closing 
*Those eligible to receive the "Beat the Heat" game will be notified individually; to be eligible, you must have attended at least four gatherings during Year 4 of this network. 
5:00 PM Pau 

The Wai Huihia Kumu Network is a program facilitated by the Mālama Learning Center that provides a space for teachers with varying levels of experience in 'āina-based education to come together to exchange knowledge, ideas, and resources; Learn from each other as well as from other organizations, and; Build new skills to help teachers feel more confident and supported to implement 'āina-based education. We're excited to kick off this network's fourth consecutive year. We look forward to a beautiful year of learning and growing together!
