2024 Henrietta Goodwin Scholars (HGS) Program Application
The HGS program is an academic success program for Black freshmen. The three foundational pillars of this program are academic success, Black identity development, and community building. The program is designed to help guide you in your academic journey at SDSU. As an HGS scholar, you will be supported by an academic coach, who will meet with the scholar weekly. You will also be supported by Graduate Assistants, Faculty Scholar, Dr. Rachael Stewart, and the Black Resource Center Professional Staff. Each scholar will take two Africana Studies classes and the HGS seminar class scheduled to meet every Friday. All classes will count towards general education degree requirements. We are looking forward to supporting you in your academic journey!
