This is a survey for Parents/ Guardians of students attending Casey County Schools to gain community perceptions for school re-opening options. Please complete prior to June 30, 2020

Schools Re-Opening following COVID-19
Casey County Schools have been asked by our Governor to plan for three potential start dates for the 2020-21 school year in response to the unknown and changing COVID-19 virus and its impact. The Kentucky Department of Education has also requested that we consider different ways to deliver instruction to our students. Your responses on this survey will guide the work and planning processes for Casey County Schools. Please take time to answer these brief survey questions. Please limit responses to one per student.

Normal school day- 100% in class instruction every day

Hybrid 1- Attending school every other day - In-class instruction blended with online options with Non-traditional instruction (NTI) every Friday

Hybrid 2- Attending school on alternating weeks- In-class instruction blended with online options for the alternating week

Given the unknowns of COVID-19 virus, which option for school start and end dates/ times would you choose? *Please note the changes in start/end times as well as reduced fall and spring breaks.

Option 1- – Current calendar that is approved – students begin August 17 – 8:00-2:40 (170 days). School start time would be from 8:00 am to 2:40 pm (3:00 pm dismissal for CCMS and CCHS) Includes a full Fall break September 24- Oct 2 and a full Spring Break March 29- April 2

Option 2- Students begin August 26 – 8:00- 3:00 (160 days). School start time would be 8:00 am to 3:00 pm ( 3:20 pm dismissal for CCMS and CCHS). Reduced Fall break Oct 8-9th. Full Spring Break March 29-April 2.

Option 3- Students begin August 26 – 7:50-3:10 (152 days). School start time would be 7:50 am to 3:10 pm ( 3:30 pm dismissal for CCMS and CCHS) Reduced Fall break October 8-9. Spring Break March 29- April 2.
