VU Youth League Coordinator Application
This is a form to apply for the Youth League Coordinator position for 2021. Valley Ultimate is an equal opportunity employer. Below is a description of responsibilities and requirements. Candidates will be interviewed by members of the Valley Ultimate board.

Recruit coaches -- be sure that each session has the appropriate amount of qualified coaches to program for the amount of players attending (coach:player ratio should not exceed 1:15).  League director is essentially responsible for hiring the league coaches and will be attached to their credibility.  League Coordinator would be expected to act as a coach for any given league session that would require an additional coach.

Coach communications -- schedule with coaches, make sure that each session has enough coaches present, assist with planning and teaching skills

Recruit players -- promote this playing opportunity to youth communities.  Co-facilitated by Valley Ultimate.

Player and family communications -- emailing players/families reminders and updates about league sessions (cancellations, locations or time changes, etc. etc.), troubleshooting questions from players and families about league schedules, anticipated programming, etc.

Communicate with VU on registrations, and organize on-site needs like additional paperwork, etc.

Field Setup/Equipment -- Arrive early enough to set up fields.  Have access to cones, discs, water, any other basic playing equipment or safety equipment (i.e. med kit) in order to facilitate a league session.  Coordinate with VU on any additional gear to be given to players, such as disc or reversibles.  

Programming -- Coordinate groupings of players (teams) that promote parity and equitable learning experiences.  This can/should be done with input from the coaching staff.  The league may be designed as team-based for the entire season, or a more flexible structure.  Coordinator should collaborate with coaches on some kind of culminating event/acknowledgement at the end of the season.

An understanding of Valley Ultimate’s commitments to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and how it relates to Valley Ultimate’s programming -- Provide basic training to coaches on how to engage in conversations of equity, diversity, and inclusion with league players.  Ensure that the league is aligned with Valley Ultimate’s commitments.

Necessary/Preferred skills and job requirements:
Proficiency with Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, USAU Rostering System
Strong organizational and communications skills
Comfort communicating via phone and email with parents and players
Current USAU Player or Coach membership
Completed NCSI background check
SafeSport certification
