Thank you for your interest in Illinois Engineering Ambassadors! If you don't already know, Engineering Ambassadors is a professional outreach program sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Programs in the College of Engineering. Our ambassadors serve as role models of engineering to those who are classically underrepresented and under-served in engineering fields. We seek to change the conversation about what it means to be an engineer by focusing on how engineers are positively impacting the health, happiness, and safety of our world.

We offer highly engaging presentations and activities on a range of engineering topics that are appropriate for many different grade levels. To ensure that our Ambassadors are well equipped to discuss complex engineering concepts, we train all our EA’s in effective presentation and communication techniques.

We are excited to get to know you as a person and your passion for engineering. The following will list the important information for the application process:

1) This application is due March 3rd 2024 at 11:59 pm CST. This application will consist of logistical information followed by short answers in order to get to know you better as a person.
2) We will review your application and notify you if you are moving on to the final phase.
3) The final phase will take place from 3/4/24 to 3/8/24. We want to have a chance for you to come and experience an Engineering Ambassadors meeting, while getting to know us in person! This is a great opportunity to see how our organization works up close.
4) If selected as an EA, you will then be emailed of your status and then be invited for an EA inauguration with the advisers, mentors, and current members of Engineering Ambassadors.

All EAs must be formally trained in Technical Communication before becoming an active member (you can still apply before this):

Technical Communication Class (ENG 110 - EB): Fall or Spring semester, second 8 weeks, Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00-9:50 AM (may be changed from semester to semester, but Course explorer will be updated!)
