Aspiring Mathematicians Programme
This online course is taught by ULMaS Head of Outreach Niall Thompson, and is for Year 13 students applying to study Maths at University.

It will be of particular interest to candidates whose anticipated offer will require STEP, the Oxford MAT or the TMUA. The course may also be of use to aspiring Oxford Computer Science students. It will give sixth form students an opportunity to work on typical examples from each of the admissions tests in detail. Initially, the focus will be on the Oxford MAT due to the earlier deadline, but we anticipate that as time progresses the course will be of greater interest to students preparing for STEP at the end of the school year.

The course will be aimed at Year 13 up until exams take place in November, after which Year 12s are invited to join.

This course will be held on Tuesdays during term weeks at 4.30pm and starting on the 27th of September 2022.

You will need:
- a quiet place to work at home or school
- a computer or tablet that can join a Zoom meeting (microphone and camera not necessary) [if this is a problem please apply anyway and we'll try to find a way to help]
- to be able to join our Google Classroom (you may need to use a personal Google account for this as your school account may not be able to join our classroom)
- the commitment and time to complete work set outside lessons
- pencil and paper

The course is open to Year 13 students in schools in Merseyside and the North West. You will need to provide a teacher/school email address so we can verify you as a student. Please note our office team is off during Summer therefore you will receive course information in September once verified.
