May 17th, 2024 - PD Day

On Friday, May 17th, 2024, there is no school for children attending all Rockyview School Division Schools. On this day, off we go to Granary Road! We will go *rain or shine, so please ensure your child is DRESSED FOR THE WEATHER!

Minimum Supervision Ratio: 1:15 or 1:10 off-site (minimum 2 staff, if 7 or more children are present)

Max Group Size: 30 children/group

Cost Registered Child: $60/grades school child or $65/kindergarten child

Cost Non-Registered Drop-In Child: $65/grades school child or $70/kindergarten child

Items Required: Program t-shirt, bagged lunch, hat (appropriate to the weather), light mitts, jacket, sturdy walking shoes and water bottle. (Snow pants, jacket, warm hat, mitts and boots if snow is forecast and/or rain coat, splash pants, rain boots, warm hat and mitts if rain is forecast). Don't forget sunscreen if it is a warm spring day!

Please ensure your child has a healthy, bagged lunch, snacks (breakfast is provided). Children will also require hat (appropriate to the weather), light mitts, jacket, sturdy walking shoes and water bottle, as we head out for a day to Granary Road! There are no indoor facilities at this location, so please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather!

*This field trip is entirely outdoors. If it is pouring rain the venue will cancel, as they do not have any indoor facilities. In this case, we will remain at the centre and will provide the children with alternate activities, crafts and games.

Itinerary:

Children will be served breakfast from 7:00am-8:30am, and have free play in the centres until 9:00am. At 9:00am, we will gather gear, use the washrooms and depart via Fenton Bus Lines by 9:30am. Children are required to have all appropriate gear for this activity (see above). Remember rain gear if it is in the day's forecast! All activities at Granary Road are held outdoors.

We will arrive by 10:30am, and break for a quick snack & park rules before heading out to explore the interactive play areas at Granary Road. At 12:00pm we will have lunch (outdoors) and will engage in more of the outdoor play areas again after lunch, before leaving by 3:00pm. We should arrive by *4:00pm, depending on city traffic. We will engage in classroom free play or park play depending on the children's needs upon arrival and until 6pm. Ensure your child has a bagged lunch with snacks, and water bottle as vending machines and concessions are not available to the children. Water bottle fill stations are available.

*Parents will be notified via the Procare Connect Messaging App, if changes are made due to inclement weather, or if it is in the children’s best interest to leave or come back earlier than planned.

Unless the Program is full, this Registration Form Closes on Friday, May 10th, at 9:00pm MT in order to staff accordingly. Please note we take a maximum of 30 children for PD Days.

A cancellation fee of $25/child will apply after the registration deadline date, if you choose to withdraw your child from the invoiced PD day, once the closing date/time has passed. You must cancel within 72 hours to be eligible for a reimbursement less the cancellation fee, as spots not used without the adequate 72-hour cancellation, will be charged the full amount of the regular daily fee.
