Friday, October 11, 9:00am to 1:00pm.

This half-day workshop will cover a number of key issues faced by clergy and lay leadership in the church and give attendees strategies for addressing them. A financial planner will review common personal financial challenges encountered by those in ministry including budgeting, debt, personal savings, and retirement planning. We will also review the time and emotional challenges of balancing family and calling, recent research documenting the depth and breadth of the economic and psychological challenges our clergy face, and opportunities to address these challenges. The program will give an introduction to the Ministerial Excellence Fund that provides education, mentoring and financial assistance to our clergy.

This workshop is free thanks to a grant to the Center for Family Care from the Lilly Endowment as part of their National Initiative to Address the Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders to study and address the economic challenges faced by clergy in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

Funding may be available to cover travel and lodging. Please contact Pres. Kerry Pappas for more information at kpappas@goarch.org.
