IKUNA CREW Pacific Islander Leadership Program Registration for 2023-2024
We are excited to launch IKUNA's CREW Leadership program for the 2023-2024 school year! We look forward to continuing the development of our Pacific Islander students in the Oakland Unified School district.  Backed by research, the IKUNA Crew workshops will support the development of their essential skills in leadership, discipline, identity, belonging, culture, purpose, community, health and wellness. In addition, CREW will encourage, influence and support academic excellence in all of our learning and activities throughout the year. All workshops will be held during after school program hours.

We invite students of Pacific Islander ancestral history of Oakland to register and join us for an engaging and meaningful experience! We will begin official workshops in November and run through May at the following schools:

Madison Park Elementary

Bret Harte Middle
Elmhurst Middle
Madison Park Middle

Skyline High
McClymonds High
Madison Park High
Castlemont High
Fremont High (Pending)

Oakland IKUNA Rugby Club

Students will use various forms of art expression to explore their personal stories, family stories and their sense of self. At the end of the year (depending on funding and fundraising) our High School (9-12) CREW will take a cultural trip to connect the concepts we've worked on throughout the year. Our Middle School students will take a local overnight trip and our Elementary Students will take a day trip. It is an experience that our students and families will find to be both meaningful, impactful and fun. 

Please register as soon as possible due to the limited space available. If your form submission is not completed in its entirety, your application will not be considered.

We will meet in person (scheduling will be released when the CREW24 selection process is complete). We estimate our first official meeting to be held on November 8, 2023. Location and additional details to be determined.
