Internship/Practicum Application
Hydro Theory offers a hybrid Intern Program focusing on mental health awareness training and self-care. We offer flexible placements ranging 5 to 20 hours/month direct client hours, weekly clinical supervision and staff meetings (via video-conferencing), including opportunities to counsel and focus on Ocean Integrative Counseling Services with our contracted programs. Graduate Interns have flexible schedules that can be combined with full-time Internships or supplemental to graduation requirements. * hours completed dependent on limitations of intern.
Acceptance to the Hydro Theory Intern Program requires references, fingerprinting (post-grad only) and interviewing process to ensure we are selecting the most appropriate candidates for our hybrid program. Prospective intern-counselors must:
Be at least Master's, post-graduate, or Doctoral student in Psychology, Counseling, Human Services or a related field;
Pass an Ocean Awareness and Fitness test (tbd upon 2nd interview).
Be available two - three days per week for the entire school year/ or during afterschool hours (approximately 3-6pm, M-F) and/or weekends. Summer hours are 2-3 hours per week in SAND & SEA training on Fridays, 8:30-10:30pm.
Be available to attend a minimum of two hours per week group clinical supervision.
Be available for monthly trainings with our contracted network of programs.
