HOPE Enrollment Form Spring 2024
Through HOPE, you will learn effective printed circuit board (PCB) design and develop the skills to build custom electronics for classes, personal projects, student teams, and more. You will learn effective system, schematic, and layout design for PCBs through hands-on labs and experience basic PCB assembly and bringup. You will also be exposed to some advanced PCB design topics such as DFx, signal and power integrity, grounding, and thermals. At the end of the semester, you will combine all of your skills in a student design project.

!!! Important Update [January 28] !!!
While classes have yet to start and we don't yet know who will show up, based off this enrollment form, both sections are full with an extensive waitlist.

You're still welcome to submit this form and wait for updates (especially to join the Discord).
However, please know that we cannot guarantee neither enrollment nor auditing.

In addition, attendance during the first two weeks is required.
Please email us if you have any extraneous circumstances.

Important information
HOPE will offer two sections this semester, with students expected to attend the section they enroll in.

EECS16A/ME100 or comparable knowledge of basic circuits is a strongly recommended prerequisite knowledge for this class. Note that the HOPE final project is a large semester-long time commitment comparable to one in a standard upper division course and requires adherence to strong manufacturing deadlines. Please take this into consideration when planning your semester - we will teach you all you need to know, but we can't slow down the clock!

We traditionally distribute Permission Numbers in chronological order of those who fill out this form up until the add/drop deadline.  By department policy we prioritize matriculated UC Berkeley students.

Please find this semester's deadline to drop courses on the Enrollment Calendar:
The first lecture will be 1/31 and 2/1. Please attend the day you are signed up for.
Please check the website for the most up to date dates once it is up:

We look forward to meeting you!
