Options!
* “Crowning” Fundraiser Yard Signs - We need a team of volunteers willing to set up and/or remove our promotional signs in yards around town, when they order a “crowning” for themselves or a friend. Additionally, we need a Crowning Team Leader willing to assign the crowning and uncrowning to volunteer(s) from our roster. Team Leaders would also communicate with donors who order crownings regarding the schedule. Visit our fundraising website here for photos and descriptions. We usually accept Crowning orders/donations between July 4 and Labor Day but won't be able to this year, until we have identify some Team Leaders.

* Work Parties - We usually have a couple work parties where we need folks to help us get the supplies ready for camp, including things like filling all the brand new backpacks for the kids with school supplies, making posters with each child's name on it, wrapping birthday presents, etc.

Meet with individuals who express an interest in learning more - Training provided!

Volunteer Care / Appreciation Team - Brainstorming, planning and executing ways to show our volunteers we appreciate them all throughout the year! This is not currently happening yet, so anything you can do, will be an improvement. Suggestions include: a Volunteer Care Team, who each check in with their own assigned group of volunteers (we'd strive to assign you people you already know) to learn what prayer they could use (can be passed on to Prayer Team Leader), if they could use a meal dropped off, online grocery order picked up, card on their birthday, graduation, Christmas. Meeting up for coffee or a play date at the playground. Keeping in touch with them throughout the year to let them know we care about them and want to support them and keep them engaged.

* Miscellaneous - Running errands/Making calls/Organizing items in storage. We always have these types of tasks come up.

* Fundraiser Volunteer - Show up and serve. Next event: Helping the  Longview Kelso Earlybird Lions make/serve a pancake breakfast at the Go Fourth Festival. Their proceeds will be donated to us at For The Children | Royal Family KIDS.

* Computer Work - Data entry, Google Sheets, etc. Enter test submissions for new forms. Proof-read our e-newsletters (and test links). Find the best price online or in-town for purchases. Create a scheduling survey to find the best meeting time for several people.  WILL TRAIN!

Financial Assistant -  File receipts on our Google Drive so they’re accessible to our treasurer when she’s reconciling. Make a copy of past donation request letters in Google Docs and update for this year. Email (either to a volunteer who plans to deliver it; or to the contact themselves) or print it and mail/deliver.

* Website Updates and/or Social Media Posting - Training provided!

* Create flyers/newsletters/infographics on canva.com - Training provided!

* Photographer/Videographer - We need both the folks behind the camera and the ones behind the computer screen. Whether you're a photographer or videographer, or you can help edit and process photos and videos, we need you during and post-camp (July/August) and during and post-events (throughout the year).

* Audio/Video - Needed in town at events throughout the year, including recording trainings to YouTube.

* Make Copies at TRCS Northlake Campus - Looking for folks we could email PDFs to who could save them to a flash drive, make the copies for us, and cut in half when they print multiple copies per page.

* Setup/Tear Down - Tables, Chairs, etc. - Set up and/or tear down before and/or after events, trainings, etc.

* Decorations - Oversee the set design and party decorations for our Royal Tea Party Fundraiser & Silent Auction. Setup: Saturday, April 29 7PM - 9PM & Sunday, April 30 9:30AM - Noon

* Camper Birthday & Christmas Cards - Join the team that decorates hand-made cards for our past campers on their birthdays and at Christmas.

* Costumed Characters - Dress up in one of our costumes as a princess, prince or superhero at one of our upcoming fundraisers!

* Hair Stylists & Make-up - Help get our Costumed Character volunteers (princesses, princes, etc.) ready before they appear at fundraisers and other events.

* Trailer Loading - We take 2-3 trailers full of supplies to camp and need help moving all the boxes and supplies into them on Thursday, July 25 6:30PM - 7:30PM, a few days before we leave for camp.

WEEK OF CAMP - Since all of our camp volunteers leave to set up camp on Sunday, July 28:

* Camper Registration - we need a set of in-town volunteers who can run our camper registration Monday morning, July 29 in Longview. These are the first faces our campers (and their caregivers) see and set the tone for what they think all volunteers are like, so it's helpful to have kind, warm and welcoming folks. The Registration Team sets up the space in Longview on Sunday evening, July 28. Then they report back around 7AM Monday morning, July 29. We have several different registration stations that the caregivers take the campers through.  At the end, the caregivers drop off the kids at breakfast. Since caregivers are wearing masks throughout registration, they will leave them here and our volunteers will take over. After breakfast, our volunteers escort the kids to the boys playroom or the girls playroom, where more volunteers engage the kids and have fun with them while they wait for the rest of the campers to finish going through registration. Then the four of us camp volunteers that came back from camp on Sunday night board the bus with the campers for the ride to the campground and the in town team of volunteers break down registration and put the building back the way they found it. This is usually over by 10AM or 10:30AM.   ****NOTE: We may COVID test all volunteers and campers before they head to camp. ****

* Welcome Home Program - All campers and camp staff arrive back in town Friday, August 2 about 3PM. In-town volunteers are needed to greet caregivers as they arrive, have checkout tables set up, unload luggage from the bus and put tables and chairs away. Setup: 2PM  Clean up is over: ~4:30PM.

* Volunteer Appreciation Dinner - Friday, August 2 in Longview. We'll have about 45 volunteers who have just returned from an amazing and exhausting week, where they ate camp food all week. After the campers leave with their caregivers on Friday afternoon, our volunteers have an hour debrief (4-5PM) and then a quick dinner and recognition program (5PM-5:30PM). This meal is one of our ways of showing our camp volunteers how much we appreciated them giving up a week of their lives (and countless hours of training and preparation beforehand) to share the love of Jesus with our campers.
______________________________________________________________

* Trailer Unloading - The day after camp (Saturday, August 3 ~11AM-Noon), we unload all the supplies back into our storage area in Longview.

* Laundry - I can wash and dry laundry after camp (dress up clothes, etc.)

* Fundraisers & Events - Throughout the year, we have various fundraisers and recruitment events where we need help loading tables and chairs into trailers, unloading them and setting up at the event and then returning them. And then there are many ways to serve during the events themselves (photography, videography, check-in, costumed character, servers, ticket-takers, information tables, runners, etc.). We're always looking for folks willing to coordinate the volunteers and logistics for the different elements of an event.

* Mentor Club Team Leaders - We're also recruiting folks with the hope of launch Mentor Club this fall. It would probably be one Saturday morning each month for about 3 hours and would be a cross between youth group and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. We'd have time for music, arts and crafts, a bible story, games and activities, snacks and some mentorship time. Right now, our highest need is for Team Leaders/Coordinators.

Holiday Parties - We're always looking for: Planning Team, Storyteller, Camper Registration Coordinator, Volunteer Registration Coordinator, Breakfast Coordinator, Craft Coordinator, Game Coordinator, Photo Booth Coordinator, Activities Coordinator (i.e. woodshop activity, seed planting, frame decorating, etc.), Logistics (tables, chairs, floor plan, facility reservation, etc.). Training provided.

* Spreading the Word -  We really need folks willing to help recruit and/or fundraise by speaking to their friends, following and sharing our posts on Facebook and/or Instagram, forwarding our emails, etc.

* Prayer Partners! - We're also looking for someone willing to be our Prayer Partner Coordinator - to help share our needs with our prayer team.
