The Leagues & Organization
state clearly that the team’s head coach is responsible for the conduct and
safety of not only the players and other coaches, but of the parents and
supporters of their West Clermont Jr Wolves team. The head coach having this ultimate
responsibility bears the brunt of any sanctions or penalties resulting from
acts of misconduct - from a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for off-color
remarks from the stand, to full suspension and revocation of coaching privileges
in extreme circumstances such as falsification of records, assault or battery,
verbal abuse of a player and the like from not only him, but his coaching staff
and the stands.
Given that the head coach
bears this responsibility, we have a simple code of conduct that we expect our
parents & supporters to follow:
I hereby pledge to provide
positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in youth
sports by following the WCJWYFC Parents Code of Conduct:
- I will encourage good sportsmanship by
demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at
every game, practice or other youth sports event.
- I will insist that my child play in a safe and
healthy environment.
- I will place the emotional and physical well
being of my child and other children, ahead of my personal desire to win.
- I will support coaches and officials working with
my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for
all.
- I will remember that the game is for youth - not
adults.
- I will do my very best to make youth sports fun
for my child.
- I will ask my child to treat other players,
coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed,
or ability and will do so myself.
- I will help my child enjoy the youth sports experience
by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectful fan, volunteering for
work assignments, or providing transportation.
- I will respect other parents and supporters by
not interfering with their ability to watch the game or cheerleaders.
- If I should not abide by this code of conduct, I
will respect the consequences of my actions.
Consequences of not abiding by the WCJWYFC Parents Code of Ethics:
1st Offense: Head
Coach will issue a verbal warning, which will be noted and reported to the
Manager’s Committee. Depending on the
severity of offense the parent may be asked to leave the general area
immediately.
2nd Offense: Head Coach will report offense to WCJWYFC Board and a
suspension (parent/s only) of one week of practice and games will be issued. (WCJWYFC
does not expect you to leave your child alone while at practice or game,
however, you will be banned from the immediate game or practice area.)
3rd offense: Head Coach will report offense to WCJWYFC Board and parent
will be permanently banned from games and practices until the end of the
season.
By signing this document you express that you have read, understand, and will
abide by the WCJWYFC (West Clermont Jr Wolves Youth Football and Cheer) Parents
Code of Conduct.
