Hacking for Empowered Nepal is an all-female 3-day hack-a-thon where developers, designers, students, entrepreneurs, educators, and mentors work together to build apps that brings out solutions for empowering Nepal. When women from diverse backgrounds work together, they don’t just do good- they become a force for global change. At Nepal’s Largest All-Female Hackathon, participants get hands-on experience, network, and become part of a community. After an introductory session on the assignment and the chosen platform, each team spends the majority of the hackathon coding and developing systems. Teams build both web and mobile applications, flesh out ideas for software and hardware, use data visualization, and much more. Mentors from diverse companies also volunteer to help guide the product, troubleshoot coding challenges, and work with teams to bring their ideas into real life.
