The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), as part of its Remote Learning recommendations, suggested a  maximum number of minutes engaged in learning activities based on grade level: Pre-K = 60 minutes, Kindergarten through 2nd Grade = 90 minutes, 3rd through 5th Grade = 120 minutes, 6th though 8th Grade = 180 minutes. In addition, ISBE encourages teachers to give additional optional work, engagement opportunities,and enrichment opportunities.
