2021 Aspire Summer Institute Team Application
Aspire Summer Institute for STEM Faculty and Faculty Developers
June 7-11, 2021 (Online)
Registration costs fully covered

The online 2021 Aspire Summer Institute (ASI) will provide participants and their institutional teams with the opportunity to retreat, reflect and act to better support campus diversity and inclusion efforts. Through the development of key skills that are applicable across faculty roles, the ASI will provide STEM faculty and faculty developers with the knowledge, practice and resources to create more diverse and inclusive STEM communities at their institution. Teams will be supported in growing their institutional capacity for this work, through mapping connections to existing diversity and inclusion programs and gaining skills as change agents. Participants will complete the institute with personal and campus-level action plans, access to a collection of resources contributed by institute facilitators and participants, and the opportunity to engage with an ongoing Community of Practice. Please see the the Aspire Summer Institute website at http://bit.ly/2021_ASI for more information and updates, including speakers, agenda and institute goals.

The ASI will take place from Monday, June 7th, 2021 to Friday, June 11th, 2021. Throughout the virtual institute, participants will enjoy a mix of personal reflection, expert presentations, group discussion, activities, and practice. Each day will include online sessions from roughly 11:00-5:30 PM ET / 10:00 AM-4:30 PM CT / 9:00 AM-3:30 PM MT / 8:00 AM-2:30 PM PT, with breaks between activities.

The ASI has the capacity to host up to 40 participants. Applications that demonstrate connections to local Aspire IChange teams or other campus change initiatives in the building of your team and that detail personal and institutional goals for attending the ASI will be prioritized. There will be no cost associated with the ASI for participants as the Aspire Alliance is fully supporting the cost of the institute.

Please submit a team application for the Aspire Summer Institute (ASI) by Friday, May 21st, 2021. We will notify teams by Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 if they have been accepted to participate in the ASI.
