The LGBTQ+ Association and oSTEM (Out in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) society are marching together as part of the higher education contingent at the Birmingham Pride Parade on Saturday 24th September. If you would like to march with us, please sign up using this form!
On the day of the parade, participants will check in with LGBTQ+ Association and oSTEM committee members between 10:30-11:00 at The Exchange, 3 Centenary Square, Birmingham, B1 2DR. If you'd like to travel there with us we'll have two walking groups at University and New Street stations.
The New Street group will depart at 10:15 and can be found by the ticket machines behind the main departure boards, and the University group will depart on the 10:00 train (so please arrive in good time before then) and can be found outside the station entrance. Both groups will be led by committee members who will be wearing pride flag lanyards so look out for these. The University group will join with the New Street group on arrival at the station, and both groups will walk to The Exchange together.
If you're joining us at University I highly encourage you to purchase e-tickets on your phone beforehand, as if everyone buys paper tickets on the day there will be very large queues for the ticket machines and you may easily miss the train. You can buy e-tickets easily using the trainline app, which can be found on the iOS and Android app stores.
We will be grouped together with other University of Birmingham parade teams, and our registration link will be on the university's web page for the parade, however this is not an endorsement of the university. By joining the UoB group in the higher education contingent we are guaranteed entry to the parade as well as being covered by the university's public liability insurance. Members can bring their own placards and banners which do not have to be approved by the university, and there will be an opportunity to make these in the Welcome Social happening at 7pm this Friday - this will be in University House G07.

The information collected in this form will be stored on the LGBTQ+ Association Google account, and seen by the LGBTQ+ Association committee. Where relevant to the organisation of the event, data will be shared with oSTEM's committee (and if MedSoc LGBTQ+ decide to join us later, data would also be shared with their committee), and numbers of sign ups will be shared with staff at the University of Birmingham. The data stored in this form will be deleted within two months. You can request early deletion of your submission by contacting the LGBTQ+ Association committee via any of our channels, using either the provided name or contact email address to identify your submission.
