IYAMW provides scholarships to Iyengar yoga teachers and students who need financial support, so all are able to deepen their study and training of Iyengar yoga. In an effort to better serve our membership in achieving this goal, IYAMW has amended its scholarship program and application process. Beginning in 2021, IYAMW will provide financial assistance to Iyengar yoga teachers and students to attend continuing education programs in three categories:
1. Regional events such as workshops, classes, and trainings with a teacher from and taking place within the IYAMW region.
2. Retreat scholarships to attend the IYAMW annual retreat.
3. IYNAUS/RIMYI events such as workshops, classes, trainings, conventions, or assessments hosted by IYNAUS and/or RIMYI.
Requirements to Apply:
-Open to Iyengar yoga teachers and students affiliated with the Midwest region
-Must be a member of IYAMW to apply (board members are not eligible)
-Program must fall under one of the three aforementioned categories (regional events, regional retreat, IYNAUS/RIMYI event)
Scholarship information:
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and opportunities are available as funding allows.
- Previous applicants can re-apply regardless if they have been a prior recipient.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered for scholarship award.
- IYAMW requests that all scholarship recipients submit a summary detailing their experience of the educational program for which they received financial assistance. This information may be used on the IYAMW community outreach page to share with the Midwest community or in IYNAUS publications.
