Description of Mini-grants For Student Success and HIP Capstone Projects
These mini-grants support student development of a Digital Humanities project, course capstone, an ePortfolio, or another project that includes or reflects High Impact Practices [HIP]. To receive a grant, students must submit a proposal that demonstrates how funds will be utilized (see detailed application instructions below). A maximum of $500 is available per student. We encourage lesser amounts to extend this grant to as many students as we can.
Possible uses of these funds might include, but are not limited to:
- travel to a relatively close archive or payment to acquire documents further away
- digitization and online presentation of archival material
- access to a particular piece of software or rental of equipment
- development of video or 360 virtual activities and/or the implementation of photogrammetry in VR
- development of podcast or video projects, including sound/video editing via the Adobe Creative Cloud
- training on DH activities by our Director of our World Languages and Digital Humanities Studio
- purchase of particular supplies to support their project
Mini-grants are not meant for Honors students who otherwise have access to funding sources to support their endeavors.
