Love that the Spring weather seems to have arrived. We are, therefore, starting up a 8 week spring walking/running program at Liberty Elementary School called the Feelin’ Good Mileage Club.

The Feelin’ Good Mileage Club provides an opportunity for all children, grades K to 5, to walk/run for fitness.  The Mileage Club will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:15-7:45 a.m. starting on Tuesday, April 14th and ending on Thursday, June 4th.  Students should be dropped off by the gym doors for the first day of mileage club, but every day after should be dropped off in the back on Magistrate where the cone designates Drop Off for Mileage Club.  Please do not arrive before 7:15 am or drop off before you see an adult present out on the track.  We will not have Mileage Club if it is raining or the track is wet!  

Your child needs no special equipment to participate.  Simply have your child dress appropriately for the weather and in the proper gym shoes.  Each child is free to walk/run as little or as much as he/she desires in the designated time.  The Feelin’ Good Mileage Club is non-competitive.

Awards will be given.  For each 5 miles, your child will receive a Toe Token.  Each child will receive a mile marker that is placed in their own book pocket.  When a marathon (26.2) is completed a t-shirt reward will be given this year! If your child participates in the fall, they will pick up where they left off when Mileage Club starts again in the spring.
