Application form for the Non-Violent Direct-Action Training, 24 – 27 November, Belgrade
Civil Rights Defenders is hosting a training on Non-Violent Direct Action and Civil Disobedience as ways for driving societal change, particularly focusing on human rights, social and environmental justice. The training will take place from 24 to 27 of November in Belgrade.
 

This training is intended for activists that are ready to share, listen and actively learn how to develop and undertake non-violent direct actions. Through a series of discussions and practical exercises participants will learn about the values and principles of non-violent direct actions and passive resistance as well as their role in the change we want to make in the world. During the training we will discuss methodologies and approaches to NVDA as well as the challenges and responsibilities that organizers and participants face. Through interactive and practical exercises, participants will learn essential skills and practical tools for organizing and participating in peaceful demonstrations.


This interactive and practice-based training will be facilitated by experienced trainers and community builders from the European Changemakers Project. It is open for activists from the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe with at least some experience in community activism and direct actions. All expenses for participation in the training will be covered by the organizers. The working language of the training will be English. The deadline for applying is 18 November 2019.
