Democratic Budget 1st Vote
Emails are only being collected by this form for the purpose of validating votes from customer members.

The below proposal was workshopped at a meeting of customer members on Tuesday 12th April according to the process outlined here: https://www.cooperativepower.org.au/powering-democracy-setting-our-2022-budget/.

A summary of the April 12th workshop can be found here:https://www.cooperativepower.org.au/1st-budget-workshop-report/.

If a majority of customer members vote for this proposal then we democratically commence work on prioritising further how we want to spend the $100,000 to do good works. If a majority of customer members vote against the proposal then the balance will go back before an online meeting of customer members.

Voting on this proposal will close at 5PM on Friday 22nd April (giving us time to prepare for the next customer member budget workshop on Tuesday 26th April).

Budget Proposal (balance between reinvestment and good works)
That CoPower's estimated $175,000 electricity revenue for the 1 April 2022 - 31 March 2023 period shall be allocated as follows:

- $100,000 for the purpose of funding activities consistent with the cooperative’s objects and purposes as determined by a democratic vote of customer members; and
- A maximum of $75,000 to be reinvested back into maintaining and building CoPower.

Any additional revenue will be set aside for allocation at a subsequent meeting of customer members, which can include adding it to the next budget cycle.
