TOCA Online: Arabic, French, and Spanish Programs Scholarship Application (Summer 2024)
Teens of Color Abroad (TOCA) is a nonprofit organization that creates language learning and cultural exchange opportunities for high school students of color.Β Our aim is to enhance our students' language learning experiences, augment their educational outcomes, and strengthen their global competency skills.

In partnership with NaTakallam,Β we createdΒ TOCA Online,Β a virtual language learning and cultural exchange program that connects U.S. high school students of color with language teachers dispersed worldwide. In our program, students strengthen the speaking and listening modalities of their target language of study, expand their global awareness, participate in cultural exchange workshops with youth across the globe, and develop an actionable community-based project plan that takes their online learning into the real world!

Our current program offerings are: Introduction to Arabic, Introduction to French, Introduction to Spanish, and Advanced Spanish.Β There are no required financial costs for students to participate.

🌍 As a TOCA Online Language Fellow, you will:
  • Study Arabic, French, or Spanish over the course of 10, two-hour classes (20 hours in total) taught by language partners (LPs) throughout the world who are native speakers of their language. Hear what our students have to say about our program in this video!
