Emoting & Vitality: Month 4 PERMA-V Focus Group - Meaning
Topic “A Cross-Cultural Perspective on the Emoting Performance Storytelling of the Native American Pow Wow Dance and the Historically Black College & University Band Dance Genres Through a PERMA-V Comparison Lens”.  This focus group interview will assist in part two of my research by answering (2) “What is the difference in the wellbeing components and shared insights when comparing two cultural performing groups from the PERMA-V Wellbeing?”. In general, there is little research involving dance genres from both the Native American and Black American cultures. Your input will provide more in-depth understanding of wellness as a Native American and Black American.

All interview and focus group guides begin with: "I understand that discussing cultural history or personal events can be difficult and may bring up traumatic events. As a participant, you have an opportunity to opt out of answering any questions that they find too difficult or distressing, add or strike provided notes from the interview or focus group, or provide permission to share details (location, tribe, college) to be provided in the research. If at any point you feel uncomfortable or would like to stop the interview, please let me know and we can move on to the next question, take a break or end the interview."
