Personal Code of Conduct
We strive to be a strong, positive influence on campers who are developing their personal habits and values. A staff member’s example is most important in this matter; therefore, it is the policy of Camp Oak Hill that all staff members abstain from the use of alcohol, tobacco products, and illegal drugs, and maintain good personal habits of conduct, grooming, and hygiene while employed at Camp Oak Hill. It is strongly urged that you maintain these habits in between employment with Oak Hill as well. If there were to be a problem in this area, it is grounds for dismissal.
ALCOHOL: Staff and non staff personnel will refrain from using tobacco products, using alcoholic beverages, or using illegal drugs at all times either on duty or off duty.
LANGUAGE: Proper language should be used at all times. Profanity is prohibited.
ATTITUDE: Staff members are expected to render a high quality of enthusiastic service and leadership that will be wholesome and expected to exercise good judgment, creative thinking and mature discipline.
APPEARANCE: All staff members are expected to maintain good personal hygiene and be mindful of how they present themselves to campers and to parents.
DATING: Dating between staff members is discouraged during the summer, as it can take focus away from duties and responsibilities, most importantly the focus on campers. If it becomes an issue, it can lead up to termination.
OTHER POLICIES: It is expected that you will take all rules, regulations, and policies seriously. As a staff member, we ask that you set the tone and lead by example not only to campers but also to your fellow staff.
