2023 Counselor Application
Camp Oak Hill (COH) is searching for young adult leaders with a demonstrated Christian faith, passion for youth ministry, and strong work ethic to serve as our camp counselors in summer 2023.  Spend your summer living, working, and playing with campers from 2nd to 12th grade. Lead your cabin in devotions and activities alongside your co-counselors. Develop leadership skills, benefit from intentional discipleship, and witness growth. Why be a camp counselor? So that you can provide an experience of excellence through the authentic relationships of a mature Christian staff devoted to sharing the love of Christ with each and every camper. ALL counselors will be required to be certified as a Lifeguard and/or trained on the zipline.
Training will be held from May 29th to June 9th. Summer camp begins June 11th and continues to August 5th.

COH Personnel Policies
The staff member agrees that while in the employment of Camp Oak Hill that he/she will adjust their personal habits to the customs, policies, and the ideals of the camp, and in keeping with its Christian purpose. He or she agrees to conduct themselves at all times, both in camp and away from camp, in such a manner that they will be a credit to themselves and the camp, and to pursue habits and practices that will enable them to be mentally alert and physically fit in the exercise of their duties.

Personal Code of Conduct
We strive to be a strong, positive influence on campers who are developing their personal habits and values. A staff member’s example is most important in this matter; therefore, it is the policy of Camp Oak Hill that all staff members abstain from the use of alcohol, tobacco products, and illegal drugs, and maintain good personal habits of conduct, grooming, and hygiene while employed at Camp Oak Hill. It is strongly urged that you maintain these habits in between employment with Oak Hill as well. If there were to be a problem in this area, it is grounds for dismissal.

ALCOHOL: Staff and non staff personnel will refrain from using tobacco products, using alcoholic beverages, or using illegal drugs at all times either on duty or off duty.
LANGUAGE: Proper language should be used at all times. Profanity is prohibited.
ATTITUDE: Staff members are expected to render a high quality of enthusiastic service and leadership that will be wholesome and expected to exercise good judgment, creative thinking and mature discipline.
APPEARANCE: All staff members are expected to maintain good personal hygiene and be mindful of how they present themselves to campers and to parents.
DATING: Dating between staff members is discouraged during the summer, as it can take focus away from duties and responsibilities, most importantly the focus on campers.  If it becomes an issue, it can lead up to termination.
OTHER POLICIES: It is expected that you will take all rules, regulations, and policies seriously. As a staff member, we ask that you set the tone and lead by example not only to campers but also to your fellow staff.

Physical and Mental Fitness
Job responsibilities include moderate to strenuous exercise, long days, and the mental capacity and maturity to assist in handling stressful situations. Responsibilities also require that undivided attention be given to the care and well being of our campers. All staff members should feel comfortable upholding these requirements without reservation.
