We are currently planning our activities to commemorate 20 years of FFTN which coincides with 200 years of the Greek War of Independence. This is a unique opportunity to engage with our global Greek women of the diaspora.
We are interested to gauge your interest in order to determine that our activities are relevant, interesting and empowering.
All survey responses are anonymous.
The following are planned for the 20 year commemoration of our Network.
1. An oral history book profiling the personal stories of 30 Greek Australian professional women and 10 non-Greek women, featuring as much diversity as is possible in a publication. The stories have been collected through an interview and are authentic and uncensored.
2. A website profiling Greek Australian Women from all professions and all differtent walks of life, including the unsung heroes i.e., our mothers and grandmothers, as well as Greek Women Greats throughout our history.
3. A series of on line presentations (or F2F), COVID-19 permitted, entitled HER STORY/HER UNTOLD STORY, capitalising on the expertise of our global community.
Our story - For those who joined our private FB forum during COVID-19 and may not be aware of the Food For Thought Network's history.
In a nutshell
Food forThought Network inc is an Inclusive Greek Australian Women's Network. It is a Community organisation managed by a volunteer committee. The focus of FFTN has always been broader than just Greek Australian women, given that we live in a multicultural society and many of us work and socialise with diverse people. FFTN raises awareness about the barriers and enablers to women's Development.
We achieve our mission through:
Our Networking forums. They have a developmental focus and raise awareness of what helps and prevents women to succeed in their career, family, health and well-being, in a culturally inclusive way.
Our Inspiring People Series where we profile members who could act as role models.
Our 9 Muses Cafe events: they are small and intimate and discuss the undiscussable.
Our fundraising film nights. They are social events with a purpose of raising funds to support one woman per year.
Our mentoring program.
www.fftn.org.au During COVID-19:
- We created a private facebook global forum called Greek Australian Women and Friends Around The world Forum where Greek women could forge new relationships and share their collective wisdom. This is the only platform exclusive to Greek women. All our other channels of communication and activities are open to all women and men.
- We carried out two surveys and
- We organised 32 free weekly zoom sessions
WE THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO FILL IN THE SURVEY
