Please complete the following questions to apply for the Director of Events position with the Non Profit Youth Leadership Network.
Must be aged 16-29. The term is for two years, with an additional 1 year option as approved by the Board of Directors. Commitment is approx. 3-5 hours per week.
Please Note: This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity on the Board of Directors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organizes speakers and facilitators for all NPYLN sessions
- Updates the session registration forms with pertinent information gathered from speaker/facilitator (ie. session description, bio, session time, etc.)
- Provides information about all sessions (including registration link) to NPYLN members via Slack and other mediums
- Attends and records all NPYLN sessions, then posts recordings in Google Drive for upload to YouTube channel
- Responsible for submitting monthly budgetary updates as well as prospective budgets indicating required funds
- Analyses session attendance and registration and makes recommendations on session topics and how to increase engagement
- Continuously checks session registration and works with Director of Communications and Director of Marketing to increase numbers if necessary
- Organizes larger events such as the NPYLN Annual General Meeting in collaboration with the Executive Director and Executive Secretary, conferences, consultation sessions, and more with aid of Board of Directors
Skills and Experience Preferred:
- Passion for youth engagement
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Adequate organization and time management skills
- Reliable team player
- Event planning experience
- Excited about creative event ideas
- Knowledge of various events happening in the non-profit sector
