Storytellers Sign Up Form - May 11, 2021
THE THEME IS IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH: “As long as you both shall live.” Sounds easy enough when you say it, but that’s before hair begins sprouting in odd places and his nose seems bigger each year. And what about when living comes closer to feeling like dying? When a loved one hurts, we may not feel it in our bodies, but we feel it in our souls. And when the ebbs and flows of health and illness enter our lives, routines are upended, people change, and things that seemed like certainties are suddenly questionable. Your once couch potato roommate begins to wake you up with a gym rat routine at 6 AM. The insulin jab that once grossed you out now feels like a normal part of the evening.

This month, Storytellers Macon will examine tales of the unique relationships involved in caregiving -- and taking care of oneself. Ask yourself how many epitomes are experienced while in a hospital room -- from babies born to limbs lost -- and it will be easy to see the importance of this topic. Join us for tales of survival, of loss, and of matters of the heart and partnership.
