WQED Film Academy Lite is a youth education program in digital media arts and filmmaking. Film Academy Lite is open to 6th graders through 8th graders.
WQED Film Academy Lite is a three-week film education program where students will learn filmmaking from start to finish- from pre-production to videography to post-production and editing. Film Academy Lite will be offered Wednesdays, 6-8PM.
Snacks will be provided! There are two sessions of Film Academy Lite this spring:
March 6th, 13th, & 20th
OR
April 10th, 17th, & 24thThe cost of the program is $200 per student. Financial assistance is available due to the generous support from foundations and the Pittsburgh community. Payment in full is due at the time of registration to secure a spot. Financial assistance recipients must provide confirmation via email or phone to claim the spot.
If applying for full scholarships, this application is due Wednesday, February 21st (for the session beginning March 6th) or Wednesday, March 27th (for the session beginning April 10th.)
WQED Film Academy Lite uses a rolling admissions process and will notify all applicants of their application status within 2 weeks prior to the start of the semester. At that time, applicants will also be notified of financial assistance awarded, if applicable. Limited spaces are available in each session.
