Career Day & Professional Volunteer Opportunities at Independence Schools
Independence Local School District would like to partner with parents, community members, local businesses, family members and friends to provide real life experiences for our students.

We are looking for volunteers to participate in career exploration activities at the Primary, Middle & High School throughout the school year.

Are you able to come into the Primary School or Middle School and participate in a career day?
At the Primary and Middle schools, students participate in events where they will learn about the specifics of various career fields.  Your participation would be done in a guided format, you would not need to prepare anything such as a presentation etc.

Are you interested in participating in our March, 2024 IHS mock interview event?
Students participate in a 20 minute professional interview. Interviews are held in March at the High School media center.

Are you able to host a high school student for a 1-day job shadow experience?
Students will spend one day shadowing a career field of interest.

Are you able to host a high school Senior for their capstone project experience for 2 weeks?
Students will work in a career field of their interest for two weeks (appx. 40 hrs total) in late May.
