Board Interest / Nomination Form
We are excited to announce that Cascadia Wave is now accepting nominations for our Board of Directors. Our organization thrives on the diverse perspectives and unique skills of our board members, and we are seeking passionate, committed individuals who are eager to contribute to our mission. Whether you have a background in environmental science, outdoor recreation, paddle sports, community organizing, finance, or any other relevant field, we welcome your nomination. Though not strictly required in order to be considered, we are particularly interested in candidates who have a proven track record in leadership and experience with nonprofit board service and governance. Candidates should able to commit to participating in regular board meetings and contributing to committee work.

About Cascadia Wave:
Our mission is to create a safer, more inclusive, and environmentally aware Willamette River recreation experience. Our current focus is to catalyze local support for the development of a whitewater park in Springfield/Eugene as a solution to in-stream hazards on the Willamette River adjacent to the I-5 bridge. Numerous fatalities and close-calls have occurred at this site. We hold a vision for these hazards to navigation be addressed, and the site reborn as a positive, and inclusive, space for citizens and visitors to enjoy the Willamette river safely. About Board Service:
Cascadia Wave has no paid staff. This is a volunteer position and will require some operations / admin work by all board members to keep the organization in good standing. Your unique insight and dedication will play a critical role in guiding Cascadia Wave’s initiatives and ensuring we can make the desired positive impacts on the communities we serve. Nominations Process:
  • If you, or someone you know, are interested in joining our team, please submit your nomination form below by December 31st, 2023.
  • Members of our board may reach out to follow up with you and discuss board service from November 1st 2023 - through January of 2024
  • Our board will convene to discuss candidates in January of 2024 and make additional outreach to potential candidates thereafter.
