We heard you. Giving Day is a lot of work, and takes a lot of time.

The end result is worth all of the hours and resources you put into it – but we know that some of your teams don’t have equal time or resources to be able to spend on Giving Day.

To be better partners and make sure we’re providing you with the right amount of information, the right deadlines, and inviting you to meetings relevant to your specific needs, we’re rolling out this tier system outlined below. Review the responsibilities for each tier, and let us know where your college or unit falls. Once we have that information from you, we can make sure we’re sending you all of the information you need without taking up too much of your time in meetings!

No matter which tier you fall into, you will still receive support from our team. This system will help us all manage our partnerships and time more effectively, and start with equal expectations of the work involved.

TIER ONE (ALL IN): Review and update website copy as needed, Develop comprehensive email strategy, Develop and execute social media strategy, Develop video (optional but encouraged), Plan and host in-person event (optional but encouraged), Recruit and engage fundraisers, Develop and manage a match or challenge (optional but encouraged), Attend all college/unit Giving Day meetings, Share strategy with other colleges and units

TIER TWO (ENGAGED): Review and update website copy as needed, Develop comprehensive email strategy, Develop and execute social media strategy, Recruit and engage fundraisers, Develop and manage a match or challenge (optional but encouraged), Attend most meetings

TIER THREE (PARTICIPATION): Review and update website copy as needed, Develop basic email strategy: Must include VIP email or roll VIPs into central messaging and must send at least one email on the day, Develop and execute social media strategy: 1 or 2 posts, Attend required meetings only
