This survey aims to support efforts in advocating against the passage of the recent draft legislation known as the Migration Amendment (Removal and Other Measures) Bill. A particular concern is the provision that allows for the potential 'blacklisting' of countries, such as Iran, which could prevent non-citizens from obtaining visas and significantly impact their families living in Australia, including Australian citizens. We are gathering data to understand and document the direct and indirect effects of these proposed changes on both the Iranian community and the broader Australian population. This includes scenarios where family members cannot attend significant events like weddings, or where Australian citizens and residents are unable to host visits from their Iranian family members due to visa restrictions. Your participation will provide invaluable insights into the personal and community impacts of the bill, helping to inform a collective response aimed at ensuring policies reflect the values of fairness, compassion, and respect for all individuals, regardless of their or their families' countries of origin.
