Planetary Lunch (PLUNCH) at UC Santa Cruz has been ongoing for nearly 20 years and contains weekly seminars by visiting researchers. Topics span both exoplanetary and solar system science, typically with an equal split over the course of a quarter.
PLUNCH takes place every Monday from noon — 1 pm (Pacific) in the atrium of the Center for Adaptive Optics (CfAO) building, or online via Zoom. Talks are usually 40-50 minutes followed by Q&A. We will also schedule 1-on-1 chats between the speaker and local people during their in-person or virtual visits. We apologize that we are currently unable to offer financial support to cover the travel expenses for each speaker. If you wish to travel to UCSC while having financial difficulty, please discuss your situation with us.
We particularly encourage early-career scientists to visit us and give seminar talks about their research.
If you have any questions, please contact ZJ Zhang (zhoujian@ucsc.edu) or Jonathan Fortney (jfortney@ucsc.edu).
