Thank you for your continued support of Girls on the Run Columbia! Girls on the Run inspires 3rd-8th grade girls to build confidence and make intentional decisions, while fostering care and compassion for self and others. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills in every girl while encouraging healthy habits for life. Over 150 girls, along with their coaches and buddies will cross the finish line

The Spring 2024 5K will be held Saturday, April 27th at 8am. Volunteers are asked to report at 7am. The race will start and end at Strictly Running (2515 Devine Street Columbia, SC 29205).

Photographer - take pictures of participants along the course

Running Buddy - running buddies are matched to program participants and must register for the 5K

Cheer Station/Water Station - cheer participants on from a designated spot along the course

Sparkle Runner - run the course alongside participants cheering them on

Happy Hair Station - apply hair spray paint to girls' hair prior to 5K starting

First Aid Station - healthcare professional/registered EMT

All volunteers over the age of 18 must complete a background check. The last day to sign-up to volunteer is Monday, April 22nd and all volunteers over the age of 18 are required to complete a background check by April 23rd.

If you have previously completed a background check for GOTR, you DO NOT need to re-submit information through our system.
