FREE sign-up for POErade Costume Contest
One of thevery best parts of the International Edgar Allan Poe Festival & Awards are all the costumes! Embrace the spirit of Poe as you don your most haunting attire and parade through festival grounds. Saturday, October 5, is our first Costume POErade at Poe House! Enter the competition, or simply join the procession as we close Day 1 of the Poe Fest International. Every participant will have a moment to shine on the Main Stage before joining the line of fellow Poe Fans as they parade through festival grounds. 

  • WHAT: Costume POErade
  • WHERE: The International Edgar Allan Poe Festival at Poe House in Baltimore, 203 N. Amity Street, Baltimore MD. All participants should check-in behind the Main Stage starting at 2:45 PM. 
  • WHEN: October 5, 2024. Procession will begin at 4PM.
  • WHO: Anyone may enter! Costumes and period attire are encouraged--show off your very best Poe looks! Note, judges must approve your participation at check-in and we reserve the right to bar anyone from joining the procession for security or appropriateness of costume. Gothic costumes are permitted, but final determination and permission to join the procession on/from the stage are the sole discretion of the judges. 
  • HOW: Sign up to join the procession and check-in behind the Main Stage. The list will CLOSE at 3:45PM.

Short description of how you want to be introduced  (include pronouns, character/general costume description, any other notes) The host may edit for length or clarity.
Add any additional notes about your costume (maker, character, how it was made.) These may be included with the host's stage comments. 
I understand that the POErade Judges must approve my participation at check-in. The Judges reserve the right to bar anyone from joining the procession for security or appropriateness of costume. I aknowledge that the final determination and permission to join the procession on/from the stage are the sole discretion of the judges.
