The Introducing Mindfulness course takes place over 3 weeks with one session per week of one hour each. It is group based and offers an introduction to the principles of mindfulness and a taste of meditation practices. Participants engage in guided meditation, group discussions and reflections and some cognitive exercises. There is a home practice for each week, which helps you to integrate mindfulness into your daily life.

The core themes that are explored during the course are:

Session 1: Understanding the mind’s natural tendency to be scattered and to wander; how we can train attention to create choices about where and how we place attention, and how this can fundamentally shape our experience.

Session 2: Exploring different ways of being and knowing; recognising how much of our experience is shaped by thought; that other more experiential and observing modes are also available to us, and how we can learn to use them to help us flourish over time.

Session 3: Recognising the difference between reacting and responding; developing ways to create the space to make choices between them, and exploring how this understanding can shape our experience and the quality of our lives.

We meet for three consecutive weeks on the following dates:

Thursday evenings: May 4th, 11th, 18th @ 7:30PM - 8:30PM
Saturday mornings: May 6th, 13th, 20th @ 9:30AM - 10:30AM

Cost: HK$ 1,050 (Includes Course Handbook, Practice Recordings)
*Supported fee for those on low income: HK$ 750
