We will be starting February, Black History Month, with an event to help us learn more about how to provide more diligent patient care to all demographics in the future. Two DMC physicians, Dr.Uddyback and Dr.McIntyre Leon, and two Wayne State University School of Medicine professors, Dr. Arash Javanbakht and Dr. Tanja Jovanovic, will be speaking about systematic racism in the medical and academic settings. This talk will address serious issues of racism. They will speak about ways we as pre-med students can first recognize and then aid in lessening the systematic racism.
