St. Bernard's Religious Educations classes are meant to supplement the parent's instruction in the faith which they have the primary responsibility to hand on to their children.

Catechists in the Religious Education program are volunteers, who put effort into this ministry of teaching religion. Their preparation and the student's cooperation should produce an environment for learning more about our Catholic Faith.

If, however, a student becomes so disruptive that the behavior makes the learning impossible for the other students, that student will be asked to leave the classroom.

The Faith Formation Director will call the parent/guardian without delay to have the child taken home. In the case of classes being held at the Catechist's home, such as the Senior High Program, the Catechist may call the parents if needed. The Catechist will notify the Faith Formation Director and Pastor about the behavior. The student cannot return to the class until the Pastor, the Faith Formation Director, the parent/guardian and student have discussed the issue and resolved it. The parent/guardian may be required to attend class with the student for as long as it is necessary.

First Incident: Teacher will ask for cooperation.
Second: Warning of dismissal.
Third: Student will leave the room with the Director and the parent/guardian will be called.

* Please be on time!
* Bring in any homework assignments. They will be checked for completeness and noted.
* We invite and encourage you to participate in class in a polite manner. Participation in class makes the class more interesting for you, your classmates and your teacher.
* Respect yourself, respect others & respect your environment!
* Please treat other's property with respect by keeping your hands out of the desks and off items that do not belong to you. Items missing or broken will be replaced by the individual responsible. If your class is meeting at the Catechist's home, please treat it with respect also.

We are all representatives of God: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Hopefully we will make good ones!
