Summary
The Karibuni CLE Camp is designed to give Cleveland’s young refugee community members, ages 8 – 15, an outlet to physical or creative programming during the Summer. Volunteers work under the supervision of the Camp Director. The volunteer’s role is to enhance our Summer Camp experience for our campers.

Volunteers will work in conjunction with our Karibuni CLE Camp staff to enhance the experience for the Campers. These volunteers may assist with any daily camp activities, such as soccer warm-ups, skills sessions, games, art lessons, crafts and administrative tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Volunteer will assist with Summer Camp activities, including but not limited to art and soccer lessons.
-Volunteer will assist with supervising campers throughout the day.
-Volunteer will comply with safety and security directives, policies and procedures.
-Volunteers may be asked to perform other Summer Camp duties as assigned.
-Volunteer will be asked to commit to 10 weeks of camp, Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm to 5:30pm. Volunteer must also be able to attend a two-hour training on either may 25th or 27th, 2021.
-Volunteer will notify the Camp Coordinator of any change in schedule with at least 24
hours’ notice.
-Volunteer will arrive at the scheduled time, follow schedule as given and leave as scheduled. Any changes to the schedule must be cleared with the Camp Coordinator.

Minimum Requirements for Volunteers:
-Must be energetic and enthusiastic about working with children, demonstrate maturity and professionalism.
-Should be comfortable interacting with campers, staff members and parents from the refugee communities.
-Should be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, traverse a variety of terrains, and be able to tolerate summer weather for 3 hours.
-Must have reliable transportation.
-Must be at least 16 years of age.

Physical and Medical Requirements:
-Able to move freely on grassy terrain
