NTSC Summer Skating Camp, July 2-Aug 16 2024
    Welcome to the North Toronto Skating Club Summer Skating School. We are the branch of the winter club that provides youth camps and adult programming during the school holidays.

This summer we are offering 3 youth camps and 3 adult evening sessions, from July 2nd until August 16, total of 7 weeks. Please read the full program schedule below.  For our registration page, please continue to the next section. 

Youth Programs
Half day youth camps

Camp C is designed for beginner skaters and beginner figure skaters age 4 to 9.  Weather your skater has no experience or is part of the Skate Canada CanSkate / Star 1 programs, this is the camp for them.   The camp runs Monday to Friday (holiday Mondays excluded) from 2:15pm to 5:15pm.  The campers will have have fun fitness activities designed to develop agility, coordinations and balance outside in Eglinton Park adjacent to the North Toronto Memorial arena.  Make sure to wear summer active wear and sun protection for off ice actives.  For on ice lesson, campers need their own skates, gloves and CSA approved helmets.  Snow pants are recommend for beginners.  60min on ice group class will be taught by Skate Canada certified coaches.

Camp B is designed for 10 to 17yr old beginner skaters and Star 2 - 4 Skate Canada skaters.  The camp runs Monday to Friday (holiday Mondays excluded) for 1:15pm to 4:15pm. The campers will have off ice fitness actives that are skating specific such as flexibility and jump outside in the Eglinton Park adjacent to the North Toronto Memorial arena.  Campers need running shoes, summer active wear and sun protection for off ice class. For on ice lesson beginner skaters need there own skates, gloves and CSA approved helmetsNote beginner skaters will have a 30min small group lesson, Star 2+ will have a 15min edge/turn class daily. Private lesson can be arranged at your own discretion.  Classes will be taught by Skate Canada certified coaches.

Camp A is designed for Star 5 to competitive Skate Canada level skaters.  The camp runs Monday to Friday (holiday Mondays excluded) for 10:30am to 2:30pm.  Campers will have have off ice fitness actives that are sport specific such as flexibility, jump and spin outside in Eglinton Park adjacent to the North Toronto Memorial arena.  Campers need running shoes, summer active wear and sun protection for off ice class.  Classes are taught by NTSC coaching staff.

Drop in classes 1 hour class for all beginner skaters and beginner figure skaters 4yr-9yr. The Skate Canada CanSkate and Star 1 program will be taught by certified Skate Canada coaches. Skaters are divided by level of skating in a group format. Skaters need there own skates, gloves and CSA approved helmets

$45 +hst/per drop in class

Individual ticket ice sessions skaters who work with private coaches are welcome to book individual 1 hour sessions at a cost of $30 +hst.
Skaters must be 4yrs+ for the 4:10pm session and must arrange lessons with a private coach.
Skaters must be Star 2 to Star 4 level for the 3:10pm session.
Skaters must be Star 5+ level for the 11:10am OR 12:10am session, note double daily sessions can be requested and are discounted to $50 +hst, just sent us and email.

Adult group class is designed for 18yr+ beginner skaters and Skate Canada Star skaters.  The class runs only for 6 consecutive Tuesdays, from July 2 to Aug 6. Maire Jonsson MacKenzie, Dawn Drummond and Mark Hird will be your coaches. Skaters will be divided by skating level and fundamental skating skills will be taught.  The focus will be on edge development, turn technique power and control.  Each session starts with a 15min independent skating time followed by 15min coach lead warm up and a 30min smaller group lessons. Beginner skaters need there own skates, gloves and CSA approved helmets. Wrist guards are recommended.

$252 +hst 

Adult off ice class is designed for 18yr+ and will teach skaters sport specific warm up and dynamic stretching. Balance and jump preparation exercises will also be introduced. This class will be appropriate for beginner and experienced skaters looking to enhance their knowledge and physical condition. Skaters will need athletic clothing and running shoes. The class runs for 6 Tuesdays, from July 2 to Aug 6.
Note due to the time of the class it is not available to skaters registered for the on ice group class.

$150 +HST.

Adult practice session  is for 18+ skaters who want to add practice time to the group class registration or who work with a private coach.  All Skate Canada coaches in good standing are welcome.  Ice level music system is available.

Tuesday 6:30-7:30, from July 2 to Aug 6.
Thursday is 5:30-6:30, from July 4 to Aug 8.
$180 +hst per day for 6 wks.
