We are now accepting presentation proposals for the 2023 Colorado Wildland Fire Conference: Accelerating Adaptation and Managing Expectations. In an era where wildfires are outpacing our efforts, this conference will focus on how we can accelerate action at the local level and develop effective strategies to help our communities adapt to rapid changes in our landscapes.

The conference will offer a suite of learning opportunities including - keynote speakers, networking events, workshops, strategic conversations, break-out sessions, tours and more!

The conference planning committee is looking for presentation or session proposals that will lead to active learning and participation. Proposals for sessions that help create new knowledge, support skill building, and draw out people’s experiences are preferred. We want the conference to give participants tools and ideas that support what’s working and help identify opportunities for improvement.

Examples of sessions or presentations that we are seeking include (but are not limited to):
- case studies of adapting wildfire resilience work to social or physical landscape conditions.
- showcase projects or programs that are working across the state (nation).
- offer a round table discussion on Fire Adapted Communities activities.
- share stories about failures and what was learned from them.
- provide the latest relevant research findings presented in an interactive format.
- gather experiences to help others with future work.
- management opportunities to address climate change impacts on fire and communities.
- transfer information and practices among participants.
- make connections among participants and build relationships.
- give practitioners a platform to share their experiences.
- create opportunities for future work with others/collaborative opportunities.
