CPL Student Librarian application
One thing that a lot of people don't realize is that working at a library is much more about customer service than it is about books!  You will be answering phones, emptying drop boxes, checking books out to patrons, cleaning up messes in the bathroom, restocking office supplies, organizing donations, making copies & faxing documents, emptying trash cans, etc.  Your biggest responsibility will be to help people!  If you like being around people in a fast-paced environment, then this could be the job for you!

This position is part-time during the school year (10-20 hours per week) and will include evenings and weekends.  More hours will be available in the summer when our student librarian may be asked to cover some daytime hours or to help out during the Summer Reading program.

This is also a temporary position.  When our student librarian graduates and goes onto College or their chosen profession, another student librarian will be hired.  Student librarians will be given the option (at the Director's discretion) to work through the summer after graduation, when they may assist in training their replacement.

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age (or in 10th grade at CHS), proficient with technology, and have an outgoing personality (ability to interact positively with people of all ages from babies to senior citizens!)

We consider applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, or any other legally protected status.

If you'd prefer a paper form for submission, you may either print out this form or visit the library in-person at 210 S. Jefferson St., Centralia, MO 65240.
