SDUIH Wo'Okiye Project Community Conversations - General Public
South Dakota Urban Indian Health (SDUIH) has grant funding available for a one-year pilot program called the Wo’Okiye Project, which aims to provide community outreach to houseless members of the Sioux Falls community.

In partnership with other community organizations, SDUIH is assembling an outreach response team to act as a conduit and support law enforcement in responding to low-level calls. This direct primary outreach will allow for an opportunity to mitigate situations before they escalate.

The success of this program will rely heavily on good-faith partnerships with the Sioux Falls community. To ensure our community has a solid and clear understanding of the Wo’Okiye Project and its goals and objectives, SDUIH will be hosting three Community Conversations in April.

Each event will include a short presentation about the Wo’Okiye Project, followed by an open discussion to ask questions, share concerns, and learn about potential solutions this project will provide.

There will be two sessions for the general public:
  • Saturday, April 15th, from 10-11am
  • Sunday, April 16th, from 3-4 pm
