1. What is happening in the study?
This research aims to inform the musical decisions of K-pop music writers, enabling them to make lyrical decisions that better engage non-Korean speaking listeners with future K-pop releases.

Methodologies and Process:
The project aims to discover the engagement response of non-Korean speaking music listeners to a K-pop track that includes varying proportions of Korean and English.

What do participants need to do?
Participants will listen to three short audio clips and fill in a questionnaire asking for their opinions on topics relevant to the research.

No sensitive questions will be asked, and no understanding of music theory is required.

2. How will the collected data be used, and to who will it be available?

Collected data will be used to create statistics that will inform the answering of the proposed dissertation question. The collected data will be published in the academic report as anonymous statistics.

Identifiable participant information will not be published; instead, pseudonyms such as ‘Participant A’ will be used.

3. How will collected data be stored?
I will be adhering to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Data will be stored within the security of NTU systems in a password-protected university One Drive account.

Raw data will be destroyed after graduation.

4. Your right to withdraw:
The right to withdraw will always be upheld. Data can be eradicated at any time, but data extraction will not be possible once the academic report is written.

How to withdraw your data:
If a participant wishes to have their data eradicated, please email me at N0872952@my.ntu.ac.uk with the subject heading ‘K-Pop Dissertation’ and the code word you have chosen.
