Regional Geotaggers for Young Women - Application form
Dear geospatial data enthusiasts!

Thank you for your interest in becoming part of the regional GeoTaggers program for Young Women.

What?
GeoTaggers for Young Women is an informal education program tailored to train and disseminate knowledge to university-level students in collecting and analyzing geographically referenced data.

The program focuses on providing the necessary skills for students to be up to date with the latest developments in the fields of geospatial data and related open source technologies with a special focus in applying the benefits of geospatial data to improve the quality of life.

In addition to this, this module of Geotaggers aims to bring together young women from three countries of the Western Balkans to start building a regional geospatial data community that will engage in cross-border collaborative work.

Who?
Young women enrolled in the faculty of architecture, urbanism, geography, sociology, geodesy, programming or others who are passionate about geographic data and the use of geographic information systems.

When?
22-27 August 2022.

Where?
Prishtina, Kosovo.

Who is organizing Geo-Taggers Regional?
SpaceSyntaKs (Prishtina), Laboratorium (Tuzla) and OpenLabs Hackerspace (Tirana).
GeoTaggers Regional for Young Women is funded by Western Balkan Fund (WBF).


What does the Geo-Taggers program contain?
1. Lectures - which focus on providing information on geo-information systems and their use in data analysis, as well as the application of spatial thinking in research work on social phenomena.

2. Training - which will equip participants with basic skills for Geo-tagging methods, the use of applications with geographic coordinates, as well as methods for analyzing geo-spatial data.

3. Workshop/Fieldwork - relates to practical work for the implementation of the knowledge learned in the lecture and training modules. In addition to this we will explore the possibilities of telling stories with maps as a powerful tool for knowledge and cultural exchange.
