Hungry for the Truth:  We are all hungry for the truth, yet the world tells us lies. Rebel against the lies of the world, and discover why truth leads to happiness.
Describe a time when you were not "hungry for truth," when you didn't want to know the truth.  Why were you avoiding it? *
Think of about a disturbing story you have seen in the news recently.  What happened? *
In the story you mentioned above, which of the Ten Commandments was broken?  Check all that apply.  If you need help understanding the commandments, see last year's What the Church Believes and Teaches pp. 32-34 or Youcat pp. 192-255 numbers 348-468. *
Required
When we examine the Ten Commandments, the obvious ways of violating them are apparent, but what are some of the more subtle ways we can break them?  For example, most people will never be in a situation in which they are tempted to break the 5th Commandment, but most of us have killed someone's reputation with gossip.  Go through each of the Commandments and tell about a not so obvious way it can be broken.
See pp. 32-34 in last year's What the Church Believes and Teaches or pp. 192-255 in your Youcat for further explanations of the Commandments.
1st Commandment - I am the Lord your God, you shall not have strange gods before me *
2nd Commandment - You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain *
3rd Commandment - Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day *
4th Commandment - Honor your father and your mother *
5th Commandment - You shall not kill *
6th Commandment - You shall not commit adultery *
7th Commandment - You shall not steal *
8th Commandment - You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor *
9th Commandment - You shall not covet your neighbor's wife *
10th Commandment - You shall not covet your neighbor's goods *
