MFOLIA 2nd HALF Statewide Team Application 2022-2023
March For Our Lives Iowa focuses on fighting to end gun violence while encouraging youth civic engagement. We do this by working on both sides of the aisle for common-sense gun legislation. We want legislators from all parties to take a stand in ending gun violence, ensuring public safety, and supporting our youth.

This is a nationally acclaimed non-profit organization. With chapters in all 50 states. We are a 501(c)(4) which entails that this organization is not organized for profit rather, it must be operated exclusively to promote social welfare. Started by Parkland survivors, this movement encourages students to get involved with politics. 

We spurred a historic youth turnout in the 2018 midterm elections, with a 47% increase over the last midterm election and the highest percentage of youth voter turnout ever. 

It’s also important to realize that March For Our Lives is a non-partisan organization. This means that we don’t identify with any party or political beliefs, instead we focus on a cause: getting the youth civically active.

-AKA getting signatures in support of our legislative agenda, having an A+ legislator squad that we

-Utilize email list to create bi-weekly/monthly newsletters

-For college students out of state but still registered to vote in the state of Iowa/still 

want to be involved!

-Can still be in-state students 

-Minimal involvement required


***High Involvement entails attending our Sunday night calls (@9 pm CST). But we are flexible with attendance in regards to mental health and other conflicts!***
